With each Trip Story, you will find a link to our Photo Album on Picasa.

2012 is off to….exotic French Canada!
Discover a bit of European culture and Belgian beer this summer in Quebec. July 6-13. For everyone who has felt our trips have been just out of reach; too expensive, too long, too far away, or just the wrong time of year, we have your trip. Friendly yet foreign (you need a passport), French Quebec will delight with historic old cities, delicious food, jazz, and some great beer. We need a party of eight and once we reach that number, then all of us can make travel & family commitments. ALL of us will want to know if it is a Go or No Go, so let Dan know & register. Deadline is April 1st.

Come along and explore the burgeoning food and brewpub culture in Canada's French speaking province. Start with 3 nights in cosmopolitan Montreal during the final days of the International Jazz Festival, spend the night in Shawinigan for beer and history on the St. Maurice River, and end the trip with 3 nights in Old Quebec during the opening week-end of the annual Summer Festival. We will visit about a dozen brewpubs along the way and see firsthand what the creative Quebecois brewers are up to. Stay in fine, small hotels in excellent locations, travel by private coach and public means, meet a few brewers, and enjoy locally guided walking tours with like-minded, beer loving travelers. Quebec is also home to a proud culinary tradition which has been heartily embraced by brewpubs throughout the province; and we'll indulge in 3 beer dinners, and 2 brew pub lunches. Beer and summer and music, with good food and good company, what could be better? And airfare from MSP is about 1/2 the cost of a flight to Europe. Driving is a possibility too. Trip Cost per person is: $2175 with a single person supplement of $395.

2013 it is finally IRELAND!
Originally planned for 2008 when the stock market and our home values went in the tank, it is long over due to visit the Emerald Isle and enjoy a trip more devoted to Pub Culture then actual brewing. Oh don’t worry, we will see some real breweries but the draw of Ireland is not variety of beer nor exotic beer styles. The Irish didn’t spend their artistry on beer but on the social exchange called the Pub.

The history, people and landscapes of Ireland, are rich and varied. And slowly, but surely, its deeply rooted pub and music culture is making a little room at the bar for good, local, craft beer. Join us for a thorough investigation of this beer trend. With stays in vibrant Galway, soulful scenic Doolin, medieval Kilkenny, and bustling Dublin, this trip offers a great variety of land and seascapes, archaeology, pub culture, architecture, folklore, history, and friendly Irish people, not to mention a good sampling of craft brews. Great hotels in excellent locations serve as comfortable bases, and travel by private coach offers opportunities for sampling local flavors along the way! We'll explore the Connemara, the Burren, the Aran Island, the Cliffs of Moher, the streets of Kilkenny, drink with the locals at more than a few hand selected pubs, and have lots of time to explore. And then there's the final three night is bustling Dublin. Punt a Guinness,

September 2014 - The ABCD's of Beer: Amsterdam, Brussels, Cologne & Dusseldorf
Join us on a classic odyssey of beer styles and European languages and cultures.

We'll travel from Amsterdam, through Belgium, via Brussels, to Germany -- exploring and enjoying several distinct styles of beer and the great cities where they grew up. Dutch Lagers and a number of emerging microbrews, Lambic and the cornucopia of Belgian selections in Brussels, Kolsch in Cologne and Alt in Dusseldorf. The cities each offer centuries of history, great architecture, and vibrant culture... and really great places to drink and brew beer. Stay in fine, well located hotels in each city. Enjoy locally guided city tours, special brewing opportunities, and great beer meals. Travel by convenient public transportation, private beer bus and excellent international rail. Beer and rail and great cities -- a very good mix. Add special home brewer events, focused tastings, style seminars and a bit of brewing and you have a great trip made better with BEER!
